The M6 northbound has been closed near Sandbach following a collision this Friday morning (July 8).

Two lorries collided on the northbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 18, causing emergency services to implement a full motorway closure on that stretch.

Traffic is building in the area and police are advising motorists to seek alternative routes if possible.

Diversions routes from junction 17 can be accessed by following the solid black diamond signs, but HGVs are warned to be aware of a low railway bridge.
