All lanes are now reopen on the M6 northbound as well as the exit slip road onto the M56 westbound towards Chester following the earlier accident involving an overturned lorry .
Queueing traffic remains northbound at J20 M56 (Lymm Interchange) with congestion back to J19 A556 (Knutsford).
And BBC Travel is still describing the disruption as ‘severe’ but around 9am confirmed ‘all lanes have been re-opened’.
The incident was reported about 3.30am.
North West Motorway Police says the driver is fine and suffered no injuries.
