Motorists travelling on the M56 may experience even more disruption than normal this Wednesday morning after a lorry has broken down on the westbound exit slip road at junction 10 for the A49.

But traffic otherwise appears to be flowing well.

Commuters using this stretch of motorway have had to endure severe delays caused by the closure of junction 12.

The major slip road has been closed to allow construction workers from the Mersey Gateway Project to develop the new link between Halton and the M56.

According to Mersey Gateway, who are carrying out the work, it will be back open to traffic on Monday, November 16.
