The M56 was at a standstill following a crash on the westbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 10 earlier today (November 17).
A BMW collided with the central reservation shortly before midday, according to Cheshire police .
All three lanes were blocked while the vehicle was moved to the hard shoulder, but have now reopened.
The incident caused delays for motorists travelling towards Chester.
