A collision has partially closed a stretch of the M53 southbound in Ellesmere Port.
The carriageway is blocked between junction 7 for Overpool and junction 8 for the docks after this morning's incident which is understood to involve two vehicles.
Emergency services are at the scene, but traffic is heavy and there are delays.
Drivers are advised to approach the area with care and to consider alternative routes if possible.
