Motorists are facing lengthy delays after a lorry hit a railway bridge in Northwich.

Police are currently at the scene of the incident at the junction of Chester Road and Moss Lane.

The HGV is said to be wedged under the iron bridge and has spilled its load, following the incident today (Tuesday, November 25).

The road has been closed at the bottom of Castle Street while police deal with the incident.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
