A LORRY driver was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive after a crash in Chester which left a couple injured.
The 40-year-old from Wrexham, who was driving a white Mercedes van for Boots, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed until September 28.
The collision, involving the lorry, a Honda Civic and a Ford Fiesta, and happened on the A51 in Vicars Cross, where it crosses Pearl Lane.
Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “The occupants of the Fiesta, who are an elderly couple from Boughton, sustained injuries in the collision.
“The woman, aged 82, sustained leg and facial injuries and the 79-year-old man was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with chest injuries.”
The driver of the Civic was uninjured.
