There are currently long delays on the M56 near Manchester Airport following a collision involving a lorry and a car.
Two lanes were closed Eastbound between junction seven, for Bowdon, and junction six, Warburton Green.
There are delays of up to an hour, and images taken from traffic cameras show long tailbacks.
It's unknown at this stage if anybody has been injured.
A broken down car on a slip road near junction seven was also adding to the problems, but this was recovered at 6.50am.
Drivers heading towards Manchester Airport are being warned of possible delays and to allow extra time for their journeys.
