Drivers are facing long delays following a collision on Runcorn Bridge this Tuesday morning (July 19).
Emergency services have closed the link road between the Bridgewater Expressway and the bridge in both directions while they deal with the incident.
A diversion is in operation on to the Weston Point Expressway.
Meanwhile a collision on the M56 eastbound is causing disruption between junction 10 for the A49 and junction 9 for the M6 at Lymm Interchange.
Motorists are advised to consider alternative routes.
