LAST Baron will live a day in the lives of rockstars, having scooped first prize at West Cheshire College’s Battle of the Bands competition.

Triumphing against other student bands Dry Spell and Morning Glory, the four-piece outfit will enjoy a day in the college’s new recording studio with an expert technician.

Pughie, guitarist and vocals, said: “We would like to thank the college for putting on the event and the event technicians, Martin Holmes and Jim Freeman, for helping on the night.

We would also like to thank the other bands for taking part.”

The band are now looking forward to getting into the studio to record a one-off demo which they intend to release for free to their fans and supporters.

Fiona Whiteway from the college said: “The competition was of a very high standard and it was a great way to showcase the local talent we have in Chester and the surrounding area.”

The new recording studio is part of the redeveloped Creative Service Industries Campus in Ellesmere Port.
