What happened?

Motorists were caught up in huge queues on the A494 following a crash.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle smash on the westbound carriageway near Queensferry at 3.20pm.

One lane was closed due to the accident for more than 90 minutes sparking major delays.

Queues measured four miles long with congestion back to the A548 Sealand Road and Deeside Industrial Estate.

Nobody was seriously injured during the incident.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 3.20pm this afternoon to reports of a road traffic collision on the A494 near Queensferry. We sent a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and one man was checked over at the scene, but did not require hospital treatment.”

The delays are beginning to ease but it is still looking very busy as rush hour gets underway.

It’s also looking pretty busy on the B5129 through Deeside just before you get to the A494.

Man checked over at the scene

The ambulance service have confirmed that nobody has been seriously hurt in the crash. A man was checked over at the scene by paramedics but did not need to be taken to hospital.

Queues for four miles

Queues are continuing to build with traffic now backed up from Deeside Industrial Estate (near the A550) to Aston Hill on the A494.

No injuries

Police tell me that they were called to the crash at 3.20pm. They confirmed two vehicles are involved but it does not appear that anybody has been injured.

Heavy traffic

One lane of the westbound carriageway is closed.

There are long queues at A550 Gladstone Way/B5129 Chester Road (Queensferry/Sandycroft turn off).

Congestion is back to A548 Sealand Road and Drome Corner).
