The magic of Christmas is heading to Chester as the city gears itself up for another spectacular festive lights switch-on and parade. The parade is due to get under way at 7pm and Chronicle reporter Frances Barrett is in the city centre to provide live updates from this annual highlight in the Chester calendar.

Signing off

The lights are on (phew!), the Christmas market is open for business (hooray!) and the festive season is well and truly under way in Chester. We hope you have enjoyed following our live coverage of the Christmas parade with Frances Barrett, featuring contributions from Sallie Ehlen and David Holmes. We’re signing off now and we wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas.
