A year in the making
This switch-on event has been getting planned for a whole year - the massive tree took five days - we’re not surprised either!

The Christmas celebrations have begun at Cheshire Oaks
Cheshire Oaks is kick starting their festive period tonight with a spectacular Christmas light switch-on celebration.
The shopping outlet is home to Europe’s biggest walk-in Christmas tree this year which is as tall as seven buses.
The tree is decorated with over 100,000 decorations and there is five miles of lights.
Claire House Children’s Hospice volunteers are looking after the tree and local family of Charlie McIntyre from the hospice is switching on the lights.
Not only will the massive Christmas tree be switched on but there will also be entertainment including a choir, Christmas characters and Santa and his elves will be handing out treats to shoppers.
There will also be plenty of treats and goodies to choose from in the Christmas corner which features a German style bar and Christmas market stalls selling festive favourites.
