LITTLE St John Street in Chester city centre is to be closed for most of next week to allow for carriageway resurfacing.
The closure will affect the road from the Walls to the pedestrian crossing by the Chester Visitor Centre. Also St John St will be closed as a result of no exit to Little St John Street.
Pepper Street will remain open only up to and including Park Street. Souters Lane will also be closed as there will be resurfacing across the junction. Lumley Place junction with Little St Street will also be closed.
Access to the law courts and the church will remain open during this closure.
The closure will come into force on Sunday, April 29 and will be in force for a maximum of five days. It is anticipated that the work will last for approximately four days.
The alternative route for through traffic will be: Exit from Eastgate Street will be via the second cross at the junction of St John Street on to Foregate Street.
All through traffic on Little St John St will be via Nicholas Street, St Martin’s Way, Fountains Roundabout, St Oswalds Way, The Bars Roundabout, Union Street (and vice versa).
