A pub is set to reopen after a major £160,000 makeover.

The Lady Hamilton on Henley Road, Little Neston will be back in business for customers new and old on Friday (March 7) after the refurbishment by licensees Wentworth Pubs and Dining and owners Punch Taverns.

The pub has been closed for two weeks while the work was carried out.

Two new jobs have been created.

The pub has been completely redecorated inside and out in a traditional style to give a fresher look and feel while remaining in keeping with the homely character the Lady Hamilton is known for according to the pub company.

New toilets have been added and the outside area updated with new decking and furniture.

Ian Mitty, who heads up Wentworth Pubs and Dining, said: “This is our second Punch pub and considering its location, we could see its potential to be at the heart of the local community.

“We wanted to maximise the fantastic beer garden and improvements have been made throughout to take advantage of this and make it more family-friendly.”

Ian continued: “The pub looks fantastic and I can’t believe the transformation.

“Previously it was dated and tired and with the investment it now looks more appealing and welcoming.

“Since we took it on in December, we have introduced food, including a range of home-made pub classics and daily specials, which has really taken off, especially our food challenges which are always fun.

“We have also launched cask ale which is also proving popular with customers.

“We have taken on new staff and may look to employ more as we grow.

“The investment has provided us with the additional facilities to make the most of our garden area and bring the pub back to the community with something for everyone.”

The pub will be managed by Philip and Debbie Frankland.

“We look forward to the reopening and welcoming some old and new faces back to the pub to celebrate the new look with us,”  said Ian.

Punch Taverns’ partnership development manager, Trevor Strickley, added: “It’s great that Punch can invest in our pubs and we essentially want to re-establish the Lady Hamilton as one of the leading pubs to provide great drinks and homemade food for residents in Little Neston and the surrounding areas.

“Everyone is really pleased with the transformation and I expect the launch night to be busy with local residents eager to see the pub’s new look.”
