Students and staff at Christleton High School are once again celebrating excellent results in this year’s A Level exams, with a 100% success rate in 18 subjects.
More than 65% of the 136 students achieved one or more A*-B grades, with 18 students gaining at least three grade As.
It was a day of anticipation and congratulations and marked the first step for all students on their way to university life, full-time employment, apprenticeship or internship.
Many students are delighted that they have been successful in their applications to prestigious Russell Group universities and will be taking up new challenges at institutions around the country.
Four students have been successful in their applications to Oxbridge:
Jemima Gosmore (A*A*A) is set to read English Literature at Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
Harry Hatwell (A*A*A A) will take up his place at St John’s, Oxford, to read Law with French Law.
Meredydd Jones (A*A*A*) will read Natural Science at Jesus College, Cambridge.
Saleem Rizvi (A*A*A) will read French and Linguistics at Wadham, Oxford.

Head of sixth form and retiring deputy headteacher Kate Saxon was glowing in her praise for the students’ achievements, saying: “We had very high expectations of this year group and they have come to fruition in this excellent set of results.
“Our young people today are under tremendous pressure to perform and such results can only be achieved by exceptionally hard work and a positive work ethic. All of our students have been a pleasure to work with and have consistently contributed a great deal of their time to the everyday life of the school; today is the real reward for all of their efforts to be the very best they can be.”
Headteacher Damian Stenhouse added: “These results represent two years of hard work, backed up by outstanding teaching and support from parents. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our students on their considerable achievements.
“A large number of our students have once again secured places at prestigious universities and with reputable companies and we are obviously very proud of their achievements and wish them happy and successful futures.”
