A SOLICITORS firm in Frodsham is involved in a merger that will create one of the top 20 law firms in the North.

Forshaws Solicitors, which has an office in Frodsham High Street, and Davies Ridgway Solicitors, of Warrington, have joined forces to create Forshaws Davies Ridgway and will have 150 staff and 18 partners.

Senior member of the new firm John Spittle said: “We are now on a different plateau and have much greater expertise across a broader spectrum of legal specialisms,” he added.

Conveyancing specialist Michelle Fisher said: “There are more opportunities for us being bigger – we can compete with the bigger firms in Manchester and Liverpool.

Commercial property member John Hodd said: “With a bigger organisation we have more experts and other fields of expertise. Law services are changing.”
