LANDSCAPE officers raised objections when plans were put forward for a stock building at a Larkton farm.
Applicant Mr W R Done, of Larkton House, Coach Road, Larkton, told Cheshire West and Chester Council through his agent, Hatton Heath-based land and property specialists Rostons, that the development would take place on the edge of the existing farmyard and would fit in with other buildings on the farm.
About 30m of hedgerow would be lost but other hedge planting would be carried out on the holding.
This would include filling the gaps in one of the main hedgerows on the farm.
Landscape officers said they were concerned that the new build appeared to be sprawling development further into the open countryside.
The introduction of too much hardstanding or lighting would have an adverse effect on the openness and rural aspect of the location, they believed and said they did not support the application.
No comments were made by No Mans Heath and District Parish Council
The plans were later withdrawn.
