THE Lady Taverners held their annual clay pigeon shooting day at North Wales shooting School in Sealand.
It was a fun day with 45 ladies taking part and they did not allow the soggy weather to put them off their aim.
Jeff Challinar and four instructors were on hand to teach the ladies how to shoot the clays.
“It is always a wonderful day,” said Lori Wilkins-Parker, chairman of the Cheshire and North Wales, branch of the Lady Taverners.
The participants returned to the pavilion for a delicious lunch prepared by fellow committee member and caterer Cath Skates.
The winners, each scoring 29, were Davinia Mullock and Emma Greasey. Jilley Parker was the winner of the conservation prize for saving the most clays.
The Lady Taverners raise money to give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance.
They supply sports equipment, sensory rooms and mini buses to schools, clubs and hospices.
