FUN and games galore will be in abundance in Lache this weekend as the estate’s annual fun day makes its return.

The seventh Lache Fun Day on Saturday will begin with a parade from Lache Community Centre at 11.30am, where the King and Queen of the Chilaxing Juniors will be crowned, while the rest of the day’s activities will begin at noon.

One of the highlights will be the return of the popular Lache Has Talent competition organised by Lache Primary School, where pupils will be battling it out.

Carole Seaton, assistant headteacher at Lache Primary School, said: “It’s equally as marvellous as Britain’s Got Talent, we even have our own Simon Cowell as one of the judges!

“We had open auditions where children filled in an application form and we put them into audition groups.

“They performed in front of judges and some of them were buzzed off, and we videoed their auditions.

“The semi-finals are taking place today (Thursday) and tomorrow, when the 20 semi-finalists will be performing in front of the whole school and the 10 finalists will be chosen in a public vote.

“We have a couple of Michael Bublés, some dancers, gymnasts, a beatboxing pupil, a Peter Kay and Journey too. We do have some stunning singers and the dancers are absolutely fantastic.”
