Heavy rain overnight could mean misery for commuters in to Chester this morning (Wednesday, January 13) as roads are flooded.

Lache Lane is currently closed in both direction due to flooding between Circular Drive and Roughlyn Crescent. The road was closed last week for essential carriageway resurfacing works.

The A483 near the Rossett turn off at Junction 7 was closed earlier this morning due to flooding on the northbound section near the B5102 Llay Road but was cleared by 7am.

Cheshire Police tweeted advice to stay safe on the roads in Cheshire today:

The weather is likely to deteriorate later today with snow forecast for Chester and Ellesmere Port .
