WITH a strong economy comes a fairer society, according to Labour candidate Andrew Miller.
He said: 'Labour's objective is to build a stronger economy and a fairer society, with opportunity and security for all.
'Under a Labour Government, the people of Ellesmere Port and Neston have enjoyed
low inflation, low mortgage rates and high employment. In fact, the country has seen its longest period of growth for 200 years.
'Since 1997, 300,000 businesses have been set up across the country and locally new jobs at Cheshire Oaks and the Coliseum, as well as the new distribution centre in Neston,
have more than halved the number of unemployed people in the constituency.
'Labour won't take risks with the economy and we are committed to maintaining stability and keeping inflation and interest rates as low as possible.' nMr Miller says the borough has some excellent examples of Labour's education policy in action.
He explained: 'The new Cambridge Road, Wolverham and William Stockton Primary Schools, together with the redeveloped Childer Thornton School, are shining illustrations of new facilities.
'For older pupils, specialist schools are proving to be a great success. In Neston High, we have a wonderful example of how inspired teachers are leading the way in a school designed as a specialist science school and are bringing together art and science.
'Stanney High in Ellesmere Port has specialist sports status and offers splendid facilities for our young people.'
