FLAMBOYANT Liverpool star Djibril Cisse paid tribute to his club by arriving at his wedding dressed in red.

The 23-year-old French international married single mother Jude Littler, 30, at a £100,000 ceremony at Bodelwyddan Castle in North Wales.

While his bride turned up at the ceremony in a traditional white gown, Cisse wore a red three-piece suit with white loafers. His trademark peroxide hair was hidden under a red fedora.

After the ceremony, on Saturday, he said: 'The wedding went extremely well. Jude is a beautiful woman and I am proud to call her my wife. We are both very happy.'

High-level security included a team of 25 guards patrolling the grounds on quad bikes. Guests included Cisse's compatriots Louis Saha, the Manchester United striker, and ex-Arsenal player Sylvain Wiltord.

The couple met in Liverpool a year ago, shortly after Cisse's £14m transfer from Auxerre.

At the time, his future wife was struggling on £200 a week while bringing up her 10-year-old son. Now she and the £60,000-a-week player will move into Cisse's £2m mansion in Frodsham.

Cisse's former mentor at Auxerre, Guy Roux, who retired earlier this month after 44 years in the job, was best man.

Secretary of the Frodsham Under 7s-Under 10s, Mark Stanley, who met Cisse after inviting him to present trophies at an end-of-season party, said: 'I'm made up for him and wish him all the best.'

Mr Stanley, a Liverpool season ticket holder, added: 'He was excellent with the youngsters and Jude was also very pleasant.

'I'm sure she'll make a fine Lady of the Manor.'

The wedding caps a remarkable turnaround in Cisse's fortunes since his move to Anfield last summer.

He recovered from an horrific broken leg in time to score a shootout penalty in the thrilling Champions' League Final.
