A SMALL kitchen had approval at a traditional village pub.
The extension was proposed underneath The Halfway House on Chester Road, Childer Thornton, by Marston’s.
The conversion would use part of an undercroft at the Green Belt pub, which was used by stagecoaches travelling between Chester and New Ferry in the 1770s. It would not be visible due to its location behind and beneath the pub building.
The kitchen would be reached through a lobby from the bar, planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council were told.
No objections were raised by Neston Civic Society and the plan was approved.
