n.SPARKLING lights are filling the streets of Kingsley with festive joy as the village enjoys its first Christmas illuminations.

For just over a week shoppers visiting the village Co-op and walking through the streets have been enjoying a beautiful light display thanks to Kingsley Parish Council.

The glittering lights and 20ft Christmas tree, which make up the first ever public lights display in the village, come after developers, Partner Construction and Plus Dane group, who are behind the recent affordable housing scheme in the village, donated a total of £2,000 to the parish council.

The money will also be spent on improving land close to St John Primary School and was donated by the developers to thank the residents for their understanding during the construction of the site.

Sparkling lights lit up the streets after village residents, shop and business owners provided additional funding and helped to install the lights.

Chairman of Kingsley Parish Council Cllr Danny Moores thanked the developers: “The donation was unexpected but greatly appreciated and the display provides the sparkle that the village was perhaps missing over the Christmas period.”
