THE trophy room at Chester’s King’s School will be fuller this week after junior school pupils walked away with most of the silverware at the Chester and District Primary Schools’ Relay Team Championships.

The King’s Junior School’s A teams won both the boys’ and girls’ finals and the boys B team came third.

The small schools final was won by Shocklach Primary School with Barrow in second place and Delamere A in third.

Second place in the boys final went to Farndon County Primary School.

The four girls from Queen’s Lower School A team came second in their final with Merton House in third place.

Other schools to make the final in the boys relay were Kings C team (fouth), Overleigh St Mary’s A (fifth) and Thomas Wedge A (sixth).

The girls final included Overleigh A (fourth), Queens B (fifth) and Guilden Sutton (sixth).

More than 200 children from 15 primary schools took part in the event at the City of Chester Swimming Club’s City Baths in Union Street.

Swimmers and their parents were treated to an exhibition by Alice Wild, 16 of The Queen’s School and Will Slater, 14 of The King’s School. Both are members of the Swimming Club.
