Here are 31 tricks to make the most of B&M's vast selection of bargains

We've rounded up some the biggest tips and secrets you need to know about B&M

We all love to bag a bargain and discount retailer B&M's stores are chock-full of them.

The rapidly growing chain, which has branches on Chester Retail Park, in the Forum Shopping Centre and at Caldy Valley, offers low prices on some of the biggest brands

But even the most ardent of B&M shoppers may be surprised to learn just how much it offers.

1. You'll find huge brands in store

Did you know you can pick up a jar of Nutella in store?

This isn't the only brand you find inside B&M - there is only Kellogg's, Cadbury's and Nescafe products available too.

Victoria's Secret sprays can also be found at your local B&M store.

2. Limited edition ranges

Similar to Aldi, B&M also offers its customers a number of ranges which are available for a limited time only.

What is in these ranges can vary from month to month.

3. B&M clothing

Anyone who thinks B&M only sells food, or homeware products, may be surprised to see the retailer actually selling clothing.

There are pyjamas available for both men and women.

4. You can even buy gym wear

With the new year meaning the majority of us will no doubt be trying to be more healthy, B&M has released a range of gym wear.

While this is not something the retailer offers all the time, it is worth keeping in mind, that B&M often releases collections based on the time of year or events which are coming up.

5. Pick and Mix - just like Woolworths

Ever since Woolworths closed, there is few places which offer a pick 'n' mix selection like the good old days.

However, B&M's Aintree store has one which reminds us so much of our younger years.

It's quite big with a huge variety of sweets to choose from.

6. There's something for everyone inside

From food and toiletries to a huge pets section and pyjama range - you're bound to find something you want.

7. Even the dog!

In the build-up to Valentine's Day, B&M has released a huge range of outfits for your dog or cat.

The range is based on research which indicated pet owners are more likely to buy presents for their four-legged friends.

8. Furniture

Anyone who has already visited B&M huge store based on Great Homer Street will already know how much is on offer at one of the retailer's biggest sites.

But, for those who haven't (and you definitely need to) there are beds for sale and other household furniture products.

9. Some items are not refundable

Although is it worth knowing that B&M does not give refunds on large items of furniture.

According to the retailer's website it says: "We do not accept returns on large items of furniture or large household appliances, unless they are faulty.

Also, Tobacco and Lottery Purchases, Music videos, DVDs & Computer Games are non-refundable.

10. It really is as cheap as you think

While Home Bargains has its star buys, B&M has its deals every week see a different range reduced.

Often it is branded products which are reduced too, such as Galaxy chocolate and Valentine's gift ideas.

11. There is only one type of card which you cannot pay with

B&M allows its customers to pay with debit or credit card except for an American Express.

12. Home delivery is an option - it's just not widely advertised

This is something we actually didn't realise.

But, according to B&M's website any customers who buy large furniture items or bulky gardening products, can ask in store for home delivery to be arranged.

13. You can find many designer replicas in store

Earlier this year, B&M became the latest retailer to launch its Jo Malone candle look-alikes.

B&M's version comes in a variety of different sizes, with two fragrances on offer; Raspberry and Oud or Cedar and Plum.

B&M's version costs £14.99 for the larger size or £6.99 for the smaller candles, while the 500ml reed diffuser is priced at £12.99.

14. Not every store sells everything

B&M has stores across the city, however some are only home stores while others offers full ranges.

So it is always best to find your nearest superstore, especially if you are after a limited item.

15. And garden centres

The bargains aren't just inside the stores either.

Many of the bigger stores now have garden centres too, which means you can pick a discount shed, or other goods for outside.

16. Manager's Specials are always worth a look

In your local B&M store you'll find a whole section dedicated to what the retailer calls its 'Manager Specials'.

At the moment they include reduced cereal, candles and air fresheners.

17. A huge change is about to be made to its food offering

At the moment, B&M stocks tinned foods, and basically other products which don't require a fridge.

However, this is all about to change.

The retailer announced plans last month that it would soon be selling frozen foods too - competing with some of the biggest supermarkets.

18. B&M has special buys just like Aldi

According to B&M's website the special buy range is made up of electricals, toys, indoor furniture and homeware products.

Some items have been reduced such as the Jamie Oliver Pan set which was £100 (now £49.99) or the Dyson Upright Vacuum Cleaner DC40 which was £249.99 now £169.99.

There is also home furnishings such as candles, curtains and Slient Night duvet sets.

The Special Buys on offer will change regularly - similar to Aldi which releases a new limited edition range each week.

19. It recently teamed up with Weight Watchers

The range is exclusive to B&M and features everything you need to prepare some healthier meals.

Stand out items include the Weight Watcher Steamer, £19.99 , the Weight Watchers Health Fryer £39.99 and the Weight Watchers Power Juicer, £29.99.

There is also the 2 in 1 Blender which will come in handy for anyone looking to make their own protein shakes or fruit smoothies while the steamer will allow customer to cook food in a much healthier way.

20. You can actually do the majority of your weekly shop at B&M

Many shoppers are still under the impression that bargain shops mean limited stock, but that is not the case with B&M.

In fact its food aisles rival some of the biggest supermarkets.

Food brands including Tetley, Heniz and John West are available from B&M.

21. B&M's bedding is such good quality- you'll be surprised at the price

One of the stand out range which B&M sells has got to be its bedding.

The designs are similar to what you would expect to find at a department store such as John Lewis.

However, the prices soon remind you, you're still in fact at B&M.

22. Rooting through the baskets in the middle of the aisles is the fun part

The majority of the aisles have baskets full of more products- and sometimes this is where the biggest savings can be made.

29. Do you know what B&M actually stands for

Bargains and More would really suffice but it actually stands for Billington & Mayman as it was set up by Malcolm Billington but shortened to B&M for Bargain Madness.

Set up in 1978 - Billington remained the company director until 1996.
