A GREAT Sutton man has proved it's never too late to learn by gaining an Open University degree.
At the age of 55 Kevin Jackson, of Cypress Avenue, has achieved a 2:2 honours in social sciences after six years of hard work which he fitted in alongside his job as a bus driver for children and disabled people.
He attended a graduation ceremony at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester where he was awarded his degree.
Mr Jackson said: 'I always felt I had a degree in me. I did it for personal satisfaction and to see if I was good enough. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
'Meeting people of all ages and from different backgrounds was great. I'd recommend doing a course at the Open University to anyone.'
'At times it was tough and there were lots of occasions where I had to prioritise my work commitments as well as getting my assignments completed and spending time with my family.
Mr Jackson attended tutorials once a month, splitting his time between universities in Liverpool and Manchester.
Most of the subjects he covered were concerned with economics and human geography, which has become one of his keen interests.
