A CHURCH has celebrated the rededication of its newly refurbished worship area.

A service of thanksgiving marked the completion of the £220,000 scheme to regenerate Kelsall Methodist Church and provide facilities for community use.

The work involved a complete refurbishment of the sanctuary area and included new furniture, building timber glazed screen and doors, removing pews and improving disability access.

A modern audio visual system has also been installed.

The rededication service was attended by the chair of district Rev Peter Barber and circuit superintendent Rev Pat Christopher, as well as the architect, contractors and craftsmen involved in the project.

Church minister Rev Sue Levitt said: “This refurbishment has been accomplished due to the hard work of so many different people.

“From those with the vision to those who turned the dream into a reality – the architects and the various contractors, those involved in fundraising and the generous support of individuals and grant providers.

“Not forgetting the underpinning of the whole project by the powerful prayer support given by so many people, near and far.”

She added: “Now the work continues as we explore and enjoy different ways we and others can use the space to enable people to journey in faith and share together.”
