HORSE lovers and showjumpers will descend on Kelsall this month for the first British Eventing event of the year.

Kelsall Equestrian Centre, based at Organsdale Farm, hosts the showcase weekend event across April 17-18, attracting riders and their supporters from across the country.

The course has been designed by former eventing Olympic gold medallist and first husband of Anne, Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips.

The Royal, who is also father to Olympian Zara, is rumoured to be attending the event, located off the A54.

Organiser John Nunnerly said: “Horses and riders are training hard to make sure they are at peak fitness to make the most of the weekend.

“We hope people from across Cheshire will come and enjoy the precision and skill in the dressage arena, the thrills in the show jumping ring and the excitement around the cross country course.

“They will be able to browse around the trade stands, have a bite to eat and watch the talented riders and horses strutting their stuff.”
