People in Chester have been jump-ering for joy this festive season.
On Friday, December 13, schoolchildren, students and work colleagues made the world better with a sweater by wearing a Christmas jumper for the day.
Some raised cash for Save the Children by wearing their woolly with pride, others raised funds for different charities and some just did it for fun.
Even members of the Chronicle team made an effort, which included Santa hats and slippers.
Chester Catholic High School
Pupils at Chester Catholic High School raised funds for three charities (Chester Aid to the Homeless, ACROSS and Turning Concern into Action) by donating money for the privilege of swapping their school uniform for a woolly jumper decorated with Santa, reindeers, Christmas trees, sledges and snowflakes.
The Firs School
Pupils and staff at The Firs School showed their Christmas spirit by wearing their Christmas jumpers to school in aid of Save the Children. The event raised approximately £150 which will help to support children in difficult circumstances.
Parents of The Firs also demonstrated their generosity by donating £635 at the school's Christmas service on December 11, which will be shared between Chester Aid to the Homeless and Shelter.
Headteacher Margaret Denton said: “I am delighted by kindness shown by pupils, parents and staff for these excellent causes.”
Cruise Chester
Propoganda threw a Christmas Jumper Party at Cruise Chester.
They encouraged people dressed in Christmas jumpers to queue jump and offered a discount on their entry plus a Santa hat.
Propaganda is a regular Thursday night event at Cruise with a mix of indie, chart and dance music.
Bluestones Medical
The Bluestones medical team in Chester raised £40 for Save for Children by wearing their Christmas jumpers.
Fundraising will continue next year with events in aid of the Countess of Chester Hospital’s Babygrow Appeal.
Sir John Deane's College
Festive students from Sir John Deane’s College in Northwich raised funds for the DEC’s Philippines Appeal by selling cakes and manning a tombola.
And on the same day students also collected goods to donate to the Mid Cheshire Foodbank.
Newton Primary School
The staff and pupils at Newton Primary School raised £292 for Save the Children and awarded a prize to the child in each class with the most original Christmas jumper.
St Martin's Academy
Youngsters at St Martin’s Academy in Hoole looked their festive best to celebrate the forthcoming visit from Santa.
Walker Smith Way
Partner Neil Turnbull, of Walker Smith Way legal firm, sported a sledging Santa and even members of the team at the Chester Chronicle made an effort, including Santa hats and slippers.
