A BIG-HEARTED teenage girl is asking people in South Cheshire to back a series of events to raise money for the Imagine Appeal at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

Jenny Moss, 18, of Shelley Drive in Wistaston, has organised the fund-raising events at the Vine Inn Pub in Rope Lane at Shavington.

The pub is hosting a pool tournament on Friday evening charging £2 for participation, as well as a quiz night on July 13 and dominoes the following evening.

Jenny said: 'There will also be a great prize raffle with donations from local businesses such as Hallmark, Wilkinson's and the Vine Inn. I'm hoping loads of people will come down and join in to help me raise as much as possible.'

'On August 6, I will be doing a sponsored walk from Nantwich to Audlem along the canal path with friends and am hoping to organise a sponsored cycle event.'

The Imagine Appeal raises money to ensure that the children's hospital can continue to provide the best care for the thousands of children treated there each year.

Founded in 1914, it is the largest children's hospital in Western Europe and is the birthplace of revolutionary modern paediatric anaesthesia, neonatal surgery and children's cardiac surgery.

Jenny explained: 'A friend of mine was treated there a few years ago so it's a organisation that close to my heart.'
