A teenager who has not been seen since leaving a Chester nightclub has triggered an appeal from his family.

The family of James Freel, 19, are growing increasingly worried for his whereabouts.

Update: James has been found safe and well

James Freel, 19, has not been seen since 1am on Saturday (November 21) when he left Cruise nightclub in the city centre after a works night out.

His mum Lynne Evans who is “absolutely frantic with worry” said her son was planning on staying the night a friend’s house in Buckley.

It is understood he may have tried to walked there after becoming separated from friends while going for a taxi.

Police search

Cheshire Police, who are leading the search, have been joined by North Wales Police and the area helicopter trying to locate him.

Ms Evans said: “We are absolutely frantic with worry. He went out on a charity night with MBNA in Chester. He had been drinking.

“He rang my other son for a lift at 1am this morning. My son could not go to pick him up.”

“James seemed agitated and upset which is out of character. He didn’t sound very well at all.”

Ms Evans said they have tried to contact James, who has worked in customer services at MBNA for 15 months, but his phone is switched off.

Overnight plans

She said: “The plan was to stay with friends in Buckley. They have traced the route that he would have taken if he had walked there.”

Her ex-husband and his wife have also been out looking for James, while his friends have launched an appeal on social media to try find him, which has been shared more than 200 times.

MS Evans describes her son as athletic, about 5ft, 10ins tall with mousey coloured hair.

He was wearing a green checked Fred Perry shirt with a white T-shirt underneath and dark trousers.

James attended Argoed School in Mynydd Isa and then Mold Alun School sixth form. He plays football for Argoed FC.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101.
