A DECISION by Cheshire West and Chester Council to refuse permission for an extension at the front of a detached property was overturned by a planning inspector.

The single storey new build was proposed by Mr and Mrs D Millington at the front of their two storey house at 1 Links View, Links Avenue, Little Sutton.

Their resubmitted application was rejected after previous plans had been withdrawn.

For Mr and Mrs Millington, Duddon Common based agents Planning and Design pointed out that houses on that part of the road are staggered. The agents accepted the home was further forward than its immediate neighbour but argued the single storey extension would not have a detrimental effect.

It would barely extend beyond the neighbour’s garage and it was understood the neighbours did not object.

Mr and Mrs Millington wished to appeal if the council was still of the mind to refuse their application.

Inspector Gwynedd Thomas suggested the main issues were the effect on the appearance of Links Avenue and on the immediate neighbours, particularly so far as daylight was concerned.
