The Inner Wheel Club of Chester held its 68th Charter Dinner at the Mercure Abbot’s Well Hotel.
President Eleanor Boughton welcomed many members and guests, including the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Jill Houlbrook, the Lady Mayoress Rachel Walker, District Chairman Sandra Crowden, and the Presidents of both Chester Rotary Clubs.
The speaker was David Hill, from Newton Jubilee Rotary Club, who gave an entertaining talk on The Great Comedians, with recordings of some of the traditional Northern comedians of the past.
The Inner Wheel organisation is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, and although originally formed for wives of Rotarians, is now open to all women who value its aims of friendship and service at home and overseas.
