CHILDREN at Woodfield Primary School are enjoying a new playground despite the uncer tainty.
A combination of financial help from Royal Bank of Scotland and devolved funding in the school budget has paid for the £10,000 infants playground.
Lee Waine, acting headteacher, said: 'It was in its planning stage about 18 months ago when one of the parents, Alison Craig, who works at RBS, encouraged the bank to get involved. Groundwork Wirral have helped with the planning and the teachers and children have all had a hand in it.'
The timing of the official opening by the Sheriff of Chester David Hughes on Tuesday came as the school entered a critical phase of the TLC review.
David Hull, head of governors, said life had to go on and children needed the best facilities now.
