ADDITIONAL funding is being sought by parish councillors to back a project to improve a playing field.

Huntington Parish Council is awaiting plans to be drawn up for the future of the field, on Meadow Lane.

They will incorporate ideas from local residents as well as pupils from both Huntington Primary and Bishops High schools who have been involved in saying how the field should be improved.

The most popular suggestion for primary youngsters was a zip wire, while other ideas were swings, tunnels and more landscaping.

More sporting equipment was also suggested, including tennis courts and a basketball area.

A focus group was held at Bishops’ High where students were keen to see more adventurous equipment as well as sports facilities.

The council has money allocated as a result of development on the former Saighton Camp site.

It has also had a presentation from an external funding specialist at Cheshire West and Chester Council on how additional money can be raised.
