A MAN who bit his victim several times is wanted by police.

The 17-year-old victim, who is from Chester, was bitten on his face, arms and upper body in an unprovoked assault which happened on the City Walls last Friday between 11pm and midnight.

Police say the victim was walking in the direction of the Eastgate clock, close to the steps by Belltower Walk, when he was attacked from behind without warning.

He was punched to the face and wrestled to the ground by the offender who then bit him 'a number of times'.

The offender ran off and the victim walked down off the Walls onto East-gate Street and made his way home.

The victim was left 'distressed' and 'shaken' with minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment but did need medical attention.

The attacker is a white man, of stocky build, in his 20s, with short brown hair. He was wearing a white shirt with stripes.

Police are keen to speak to anybody who may have witnessed the attack, has information about the incident or knows the individual responsible.

The investigating officer is Detective Constable Christopher Dean who can be contacted by ringing the Specialist Investigation Unit at Chester on 01244 616053. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
