A DESIGNER store is fighting back against the recession.
Hugo Boss opened its new £750,000 shop on the corner of St Michael’s row, near the main Bridge Street entrance to the Grosvenor Shopping centre, last week, creating five new jobs.
Manager Steven Porter, 32, of Connah’s Quay, said: “We are delighted with the new store.
“We have only been open a week but already footfall has increased and the new location means we are noticed from four different directions as people shop.
“We have enlarged and improved our black label tailoring section as this is a core part of the company.
“Even with the recession trade has remained steady and we hope the new location will increase trade in the area in general.
“We also aim to build on our customer relations and improve brand awareness.”
The new store, a stone’s throw from the old store on St Michael’s Row, covers two storeys, with floor space totalling 3,000sq ft.
It is now classed as flagship size and is bigger than the two Hugo Boss stores in Manchester.
