A FUNDRAISER and her colleagues have helped to pay for two nurses at Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Lynne Pierce, financial planning manager at HSBC Chester, and fellow employees are on their way to smashing their target of raising £50,000 for the charity.

Staff organised events and activities throughout 2009 including a stand-up comedy evening and a Rat Pack ball held at Chester Racecourse.

Their fundraising efforts paid off when they handed over a cheque for £48,326 to staff at the hospice.

Lynne said: “We set ourselves a target of raising £50,000 for Claire House in 2009 and 2010 and, thanks to receiving match funds from HSBC in the Community, we are well on the way to smashing this.

“Even if we reach our target we will continue to raise funds for such an important charity.”

Laura Breen, area fundraiser at Claire House, said: “The team at HSBC have worked so hard to raise donations for us and organised a number of fantastic events.Š

“This money will go toward funding for two nurses at the hospice.”
