Janice Picken, Boughton

I don’t think the strike will work, it has been proved before that people don’t always get what they want. The children will suffer the most and no-one will benefit from it.

John Townsend, Hough Green

I agree with their objective but not with the execution. I don’t think they’ll get what they want, and the public are definitely not going to be happy about the strike.

John Kavanagh, Chester

I can understand the reason for people to strike, my father was a coal miner and faced the same sort of situation. I’m unhappy about it because the library was shut this morning. But, it’s about time, all power to the unions.

Jackie Shaw, Chester

At the moment, everybody is in the same position with low pay, so I don’t think it’s going to work. The kids are breaking up next week anyway. It’ll probably have an effect, because people want the Government to do something.

Gareth Wallage, Blacon

I think it will make a difference, with the rising cost of food, bills and everything else no-one can afford anything. I’m for the strike, even though I’m not greatly affected.

Lynn Allman, Saltney

My daughter’s school wasn’t actually on strike so it hasn’t directly affected me, but there were no dinnerladies, and there won’t be tomorrow. I don’t see how the strike will make a difference, does it ever?
