KELSALL Parish Council has raised a 15 point objection to proposals for a development of 34 dwellings, involving the demolition of two properties, on land at the rear of 2A Church Street, Kelsall.

The council argues the new build is against the Kelsall Parish Landscape and Design Statement and is unsustainable.

It would set a harmful precedent and there are concerns about the character and design.

Councillors also point to traffic and pedestrian issues, the effect on schools, especially the village primary school, the lack of playground provision, the effect on services and what is claimed to be ‘poor community consultation’.

The scheme is also said to be against an emerging neighbourhood development plan for the village.
