THE gruesome murder of a prostitute from the Chester area has left a community stunned.

Former Saltney schoolgirl Hanane Sarah Parry, 19, was this week identified as the second victim of a Ripper-style killing in which her body was dismembered and dumped in a Liverpool alleyway.

Merseyside detectives were last night continuing to question suspect Mark Corner, 26, from the Everton area of Liverpool, but had to make a decision by 10pm on whether to bring a charge against him.

Meanwhile, Miss Parry's home community of Broughton was this week shocked and saddened to learn of her tragic fate and that she had been working as a prostitute.

Her mother, Diane Parry, of Warren Drive, Broughton, said in a statement: 'Myself and Hanane's family are absolutely devastated by the news of her death and we are struggling to come to terms with this dreadful news.

'Hanane was extremely kind-hearted and her name actually means kindness. She was a very generous girl and close to her brothers and sister, who are unbelievably shocked by her death.

'She was a beautiful young girl at the start of her life with a shy, unassuming character. I would describe her as a free spirit who was very headstrong and liked her own company and her friends at home will miss her a great deal.

'Hanane gave a lot to people who were less fortunate than herself. I bought her a pair of trainers when she was 17, which she gave away to a homeless man saying he needed them more than she did.

'She tried her best to make the lives of others better and she was almost too generous at times. Hanane was a wonderful girl who had been drawn down the wrong path in life.'

A second woman's body parts, also found at the murder scene, were identif ied as Pauline Stephen, 25, from Lancashire. Both she and Miss Parry, who had been living in Anf ield in recent months, were said to regularly work the Netherfield Road area of Everton. Police cannot be sure if they knew each other.

Officers says that while Miss Stephen was reported missing 10 days before her dismembered body was discovered, noone had raised similar concerns about Miss Parry, who leaves two brothers, aged 11 and 13, and a seven-year-old sister.

She was last seen about two weeks before Sunday's find.

Suzanne Fairman, 19, was in the same school year as Hanane Parry who attended Broughton Junior and Infants' Schools before moving to St David's High School in Saltney where she left in June 2000.

Miss Fairman, of Broughton, said: 'I found out this morning. My mum woke me up. I'm not sure how she found out about it.

'Hanane was very quiet and really really nice and very pretty. Some girls are bitchy. She wasn't.'

'Two of my best mates who are at Liverpool University saw her when they were out one night,' said Miss Fairman, who commented that there had been no indication she was involved in prostitution and was shocked at the revelation that she had been.

Mrs Doreen Symms, of Broughton Hall Drive, used to help out with the playgroup run on the Broughton Junior School site and recalls Hanane as a toddler.

She said: 'She was really pretty and a good little girl - really attractive. I would say she was beautiful. She was a well adjusted child.

'It's horrific that this has happened to her. Her mum is a lovely person,' added Mrs Symms. 'It's sad - in this day and age you are frightened to let your kids out.'

Both schools attended by Miss Parry had broken up for the summer holidays this week and her former teachers could not be contacted.
