THE Hoole Walking Group has been offering health walks since early 2008.
As members of the group have become fitter and more active, their walks have gradually become longer - a typical walk now lasts 90 minutes or more.
The downside to this is that newcomers are sometimes finding it difficult to keep pace.
So the group is now introducing a shorter walk of less than an hour which will take place on the first Thursday of each month, starting on Thursday, September 2.
This shorter walk will be held alongside the group’s current walking activities so that both newcomers and existing walkers will be able to share the same social benefits offered by the group.
They will meet at the Bawn Lodge Hotel on Hoole Road for a 10.30am start and return to the hotel for light refreshments and a chat after the walk.
Anybody interested in joining for either the shorter or longer walks can just turn up on the day.
