A 24-year-old man has been arrested following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Hoole last night (Tuesday September 9)

Officers received reports of the incident on Walker Street at about 9.30pm, in which a man is said to have entered the store and threatened members of staff with a knife, demanding cash.

He was given money from the till before making off on foot with cash and scratch cards. Nobody was injured in the incident.

At around 2.30am, police arrested a man from Saughall on suspicion of robbery, and he is currently assisting police with enquiries.
