AN AMBITIOUS £3.2m housing regeneration scheme for over 55s has been completed.

Chester & District Housing Trust unveiled the 36 home Hoole House development at an official opening ceremony last week.

The homes, developed by CDHT, replace 22 bedsits at Willow Crescent, and consist of 24 high quality apartments to rent and another 12 available on a shared ownership basis.

Margaret Millichamp, the development’s first resident, cut the ribbon to her new home and celebrated with a cake.

She said: “I just want to say how happy I am moving into my new home at Hoole House.

“I’ve watched it being built and I can’t wait to move in.”

CDHT Chief Executive John Denny added: “We’re really proud of Hoole House, which is one of four schemes opening this year and means we have invested £13m in over 55s accommodation this year.

“We’ve had some great positive feedback from residents about the homely design and feel of Hoole House.”
