SOAP stars gave calorie counting a miss to help Chester charity Save the Family.

Hollyoaks cast members tucked in to a new range of chocolates produced by the Miracle Company, a social enterprise created to re-train and educate homeless people.

Save the Family’s residents make the chocolates, which are then sold to provide extra cash.

Newcomer Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove, who plays Texas Longford, joined cast buddies Andrew Moss (Rhys Ashworth), Rob Norbury (Riley Costello), PJ Brennan (Doug Carter), Craig Vye (Ethan Scott) and Sikander Malik (Jamil Fadel) to sample the goods.

The Miracle Company was launched last year to create employment opportunities and provide extra cash to fund Save the Family’s activities.

The charity’s head of marketing and communications, Helen Booth, said she hoped the chocolates would prove popular in the run-up to Easter and Mother’s Day.

“We’re delighted at the support from the Hollyoaks team,” she said.

“The families have been working extremely hard to produce a wonderful range of truffles, which not only taste fantastic but also raise vital extra cash for Save the Family’s work.”

Each box costs £4.95. To order visit www.savethefamily.org.uk.
