CHESTER City Council is appealing to the public for some historic pictures to help with the work of repairing buildings in the Chester Station and Brook Street areas.

As part of the lottery funded scheme to revamp this interesting part of the city, the council would like to restore some of the shop fronts to their true Victorian designs. To do this authentically the council needs historic photos of the area that can be copied.

City council townscape heritage initiative officer, Sophie Norton said: “We are particularly interested in the area around Brook Place and buildings on the station side at the north end.

“If anyone has historic photographs or knows anyone else who can help, please contact me on 01244 402049.”
