VICTORIA Square's Street Festival was declared a big hit by punters who made the trip to take part in a fun-packed family day out.

Sunday's event was organised by Highlight Pyrotechnics on behalf of Halton Borough Council and stilt-walkers, jugglers and clowns entertained the masses of families who enjoyed a humid day on the square.

Shows featuring mime artists and a host of bands played throughout the day. Children were included in a series of acts and performances by artists who showed them various juggling and mime techniques.

The Street Festival will be followed by 'Extreme Sports' on Sunday featuring Team Extreme who will be impressing audiences with their amazing skateboarding and BMX stunts.

These events all lead up to the music event, Pop in the Square, on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30 - which will feature tribute bands, including Cheaties and Kylie in your Eyes.
