HIGH school students have proved they are up to the ultimate challenge.

Six students from Bishop Heber High in Malpas showed their skills with flying discs when they competed in the European junior championships in Trnava, Slovakia.

Alex Chisholm, Clare Littler and Katie Flight all represented Great Britain girls and came away with silver medals.

Ben Powlay and Felix Shore played for Great Britain U17s open and lost out to Austria in the final in a sudden death 14–13 after a massive comeback from 13–8.

Michael Connor played for Great Britain junior second team and went unbeaten in the tournament, striking gold after helping to beat Belgium 15–10 in the final.

In August, Sam Green, Katie Holmes and Kate Farmer fly out to Vancouver, Canada, to compete in the ultimate world championships.

Sam has been selected for Great Britain juniors (U20s), while Kate and Katie are playing for Great Britain junior women (U20s).

All three have spent the year fundraising to help subsidise the cost of representing their country.

“Good luck to them and the other Great Britain squads as they aim for gold on the world stage,” says the school.
